Obituary: Ronald Joseph LeRoux, 54, of East Lyme
Ron was a renowned chef, spending many years as an employee of Leon's Restaurant. He loved gardening, landscaping and his dog Sam.

EAST LYME, CT - (From West Haven Funeral Home) It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Ronald Joseph LeRoux, age 54, of East Lyme (formerly of West Haven), on November 30th, 2021.
Ron was born in New Haven on September 23, 1967, a son of the late James and Sally (Ollman) LeRoux.
He is survived by brothers Steven and Paul (Bernice) LeRoux; sister Diane (Frank) Skoronski; nieces Jaimie, and Sara Bosco and Katie Skoronski; nephews Michael Bosco, Steven Jr., and Dylan LeRoux, Ryan, and Andrew Skoronski; great-nieces Natalie and Mila; as well as great-nephews Aydan, Noah, and Joshua. Moreover, he leaves behind his most beloved, and very best buddy, “Sam”.
The love Ron held for his dog was immeasurable, for the question of ‘who rescued whom’ was never answered, nor did its meaning ever wane.
Ron was a wonderful chef, and enjoyed his chosen career for many years, especially those spent at Leon’s Restaurant in New Haven.
Aside from his passion for the art of cuisine, he held a particular interest for gardening and landscaping, taking much pride in the many gardens surrounding his home.
There were countless excursions spent with Sam, whether it was biking or hiking, Ron simply adored to be within nature, and with his dog. He was an avid NASCAR fan, was patriotic, and proud of his country and heritage.
Ron was a kind and friendly man, blessed with the reciprocation of immense love by his family and many friends. He held a marked adoration for all of his nieces and nephews and will remain forever missed by those who knew him.
The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the staff at Yale New Haven Hospital, St. Raphael Campus, for their unending kindness and compassionate care.
Arrangements have been entrusted to West Haven Funeral Home at the Green. Calling hours will take place on Sunday, December 5th, from 4 to 7 o’clock, at the funeral parlor.
Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ronald’s name to The Tunnel to Towers Foundation, or to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
