Obituary: Timothy B. Loflin, 52, of Old Lyme

Owner of The Pool Guy Store in Old Saybrook, he was a car enthusiast who had a passion for rescuing dogs; he admired their faithfulness.

Timothy B. Loflin, 52, of Old Lyme, CT passed away unexpectedly on February 5, 2024. He was born in Maryland on September 29, 1971, and grew up primarily in Old Saybrook, CT.

Tim was known on the shoreline as “The Pool Guy”, owner of The Pool Guy, LLC and The Pool Guy Store in Old Saybrook. He was a car enthusiast, a GM loyalist at heart and known to push the limits of the speedometer. Tim had a passion for rescuing dogs. He admired their faithfulness, and that no matter what, dogs were always happy to see you. All those who knew him would agree that his tough exterior covered an incredibly loving person, he was truly one of a kind, limited edition.

Tim is survived by his wife Alycia (Marcolini) Loflin, and four children; Emily, Megan, Brice, and Josephine Loflin all of Old Lyme, as well as a meaningful network of family both biological and chosen.

Memorial Services will be held Saturday, February 17 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Swan Funeral Home, 1224 Boston Post Road, Old Saybrook with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation at t2t.org. Keenan Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
