DEEP RIVER, CT —The Masterworks Chorus and Cappella Orchestra is conducted by Simon Holt, Music Director of Cappella Cantorum and the First Congregational Church of Old Lyme, as well as the Founder and Artistic Director of Salt Marsh Opera.

Registration is set for Monday, Sept. 11, at 7 p.m., at John Winthrop Middle School, 1 Winthrop Road in Deep River. The first rehearsal immediately follows.

Rehearsals are generally held on Mondays from 7 to 9 p.m. at the same location.
Music selections for the fall semester include Magnificat, composed by John Rutter, and The
Many Moods of Christmas, arranged by Robert Shaw. Scores may be purchased in advance on
the Cappella website or in person on registration night.

Both pieces will be performed at the Winter Concert on Sunday, Dec. 3, in the auditorium
of John Winthrop Middle School, subject to change based on availability.
All singers age 13 and up are welcome and no auditions are required. Registration and music fees are waived for students 18 and under. For those interested. pre-registration and music are now

Established in 1970, Cappella Cantorum is a non-auditioned community choral group that
provides singers of all ages the opportunity to learn, perform, and share great choral music. In
addition to twice yearly concerts and an annual Handel's Messiah Sing or Listen, the group
promotes music education and appreciation through its SummerSings program, vocal training
workshops, and other events open to the public. Originally founded to serve the Lower
Connecticut River Valley and Shoreline area, Cappella Cantorum now has members from more
than 31 communities across the state.
