Rock Blasting Will Stop Traffic Twice A Day On I-95 In East Lyme
Traveling on I-95 in the summer months is no walk in the park. Starting Tuesday, add rock blasting that shutters the highway to the mix.

EAST LYME, CT —On a good day during the summer months, Interstate 95 in East Lyme is a toss-up: traffic may cause delays or, in the worst case, standstill traffic. Now, add rock blasting twice a day for the next couple of months to your travels on the busy section of the highway.
Starting Tuesday, rock blasting along I-95 will take place Monday through Thursday for a period of six to 8 weeks. As a result, I-95 NB/SB will be closed twice a day between the hours of 9 a.m and 1:30 p.m. for 15 minutes for each blast.
During this time, motorists are encouraged to follow this detour:
