June 24 – July 16: The Beauty Within celebrates young artists’ perspectives on people in their lives. Artists, ages 5-18, from Old Lyme and its surrounding communities can submit portraits of people they admire - a friend, family member, teacher, coach, hero, or a self-portrait. Deadline is June 18.

July 15, 10am-1pm: Family Day at LAA offers fun for all with art projects, Plein Air painting, games, music, the Great Americans Project, and The Beauty Within award ceremony. Event is free and open to the public.

June 23 – July 15: Expanding Visions showcases the full range of unique and innovative styles of LAA artists. From hyperrealism to abstraction, this juried exhibition celebrates the vibrant range of LAA's members.

June 23 – August 10: The Hudson Valley Art Association is returning to LAA for their 90th Annual Juried National Exhibition. In the Hudson River School spirit, this spectacular exhibit showcases the aesthetic appeal and technical skill of representational art across a variety of media, including oil, watercolor, pastel, graphics, and sculpture.

July 8: Celebrate Plein Air painting and support LAA’s Skylight Project at the Wet Paint and “Raise the Roof” Cocktail Party and Fundraiser. After painting all day, artists return to LAA with their framed pieces for sale at 5pm just in time to join the celebration. Tickets online.

July 29, 9am-3pm: Old Lyme’s Midsummer Festival returns for another fun-filled day on Lyme Street. LAA’s grounds will feature member artists, local artisans, family activities and food trucks.
