A Whale Buoy and Appreciation

A Whale Buoy and Appreciation

Today’s buoy was painted by Susan Schermerhorm of Niantic. It depicts a whimsical sea setting of whales. Perhaps, the letters are initials and the dates of specific whale watching cruises? What other ideas do you have? Perhaps, Susan will tell us what she had in mind.

The East Lyme Public Trust Foundation would like to thank one of our Partners from Niantic Main Street- Coastal Crab, 266 Main Street. Both owners, Laura Westner and Rachel Redding, were a key component of the project, agreeing to sell the buoys and then receive the finished buoys. We are very appreciative of their assistance.

In addition, thanks also to another member of Niantic Main Street- Sue Kumro of Mermaid Liquors, 159 Main Street - who also has sold the buoys and is receiving the completed buoy.
