Driver With Fake Plates Caught Doing 113 MPH In Manchester, Vernon

VERNON/MANCHESTER, CT — A motorist from Maine with fake plates was caught doing 113 mph on a stretch of Interstate 84 through Manchester and Vernon, state police said.

The incident took place on Dec. 2. A trooper stationed in Manchester encountered a vehicle headed eastbound near Exit 63 and clocked it at 113 mph, according to an arrest report.

The trooper caught up with the vehicle and stopped it in Vernon near the Exit 64-65 interchange. The 32-year-old driver from Brunswick, ME, was charged with driving with falsified plates, driving an unregistered vehicle, reckless driving and reckless endangerment.

He is due in Rockville Superior Court on Dec. 16, records show.
