Rockville High School Graduation Date Now Locked In
A early determination on a graduation date is good for panning, Vernon's top educator said.

VERNON, CT — The official graduation date for Rockville High School is now really official.
It's June 12.
The Vernon Board of Education recently put its official stamp on the date that was first announced in late summer.

Vernon Superintendent of Schools Joseph Macary said the rule on setting a graduation date had been April 1 for a number of years. Recent history removed that restriction.
And it's a good thing, Macary said. In Vernon's case, the Project Graduation outing was booked for Sonny's Place in South Windsor.

"Once we were able to lock in that date for Sonny's, then the Board of Education made June 12 official," Macary said. "And it's a good thing we can do it this early, because now people can plan."
Underclassmen at RHS will be in classes until June 16, because of a September water issue and a snow day last week, Macary said.
The last day at the local elementary schools and Vernon Center Middle School is June 13, barring any more weather days, Macary said.
