Troopers will step up patrols during the evenings of July 3 through 7.

In preparation for the Fourth of July hjoliday, troopers from Connecticut State Police Troop C in Tolland will conduct grant-funded DUI roving patrols during the late evening hours of July 3 through July 7.
In addition, a DUI Spot Check will be staffed at the intersection of Route 190 and Shaker Road in Somers. This DWI enforcement project will primarily consist of Troop C personnel detecting and apprehending intoxicated drivers.
Lt. John Albanese is advising motorists that in addition to DUI enforcement, troopers under his command will also actively enforce all of Connecticut’s motor vehicle laws. This will include speeding, illegal use of hand-held devices, seatbelt violations, and aggressive driving.
