Vernon Police Announce Promotions, New Officers, Major Award

VERNON, CT — Vernon police have announced promotions, new officers and a major award.

Officer Nikolos Trantalis has been promoted to the rank of Sergeant. Trantalis has been with the VPD since September of 2014. He has held many roles to include Field Training Officer, Firearms Instructor, Tactical Operator of the Capitol Region Emergency Services Team, and many more.

Officer Charles Vogt has been promoted to the rank of sergeant. Vogt has been with the VPD since December of 2017. Sergeant Vogt has held many roles to include Field Training Officer, Tactical Operator of the Capitol Region Emergency Services team, and Firearms Instructor.

A Major Award
Officer Gregory Webster (Badge 294), was awarded the Samuel J. Luciano award, presented to the recruit who attains the highest academic average in their academy class. Webster attended Hartford’s Police Academy and graduated in August of this year.

New Officers
Officer Jordan Roberts (Badge 300) grew up in South Windsor. She is a graduate of Central Connecticut State University with a degree in criminology. She completed an internship with the VPD in the spring of 2024.
Officer Daniel D’Alessandro (Badge 301) grew up in Vernon. He is a graduate of Rockville High School and recently attended Manchester Community College. Officer Roberts and Officer D’Alessandro will begin several months of training at the POST academy starting Feb. 3.
