Deadline Is Today For West Hartford 'America 250' Funding Push

West Hartford's America 250 Celebration Committee is planning educational and cultural events to celebrate the country's milestone birthday.

WEST HARTFORD, CT —Today is the last day to donateto the town's "America 250" initiative to organize several celebrations for the country's 250th birthday next year.

West Hartford's America 250 Celebration Committee is planning educational and cultural opportunities that will explore the many facets of the American experience from the perspective of our community.

"We’ll host conversations, programs, and special events that reflect who we are and highlight West Hartford’s important role within Connecticut and the nation," wrote the committee Thursday.

To do so, the committee needs to raise money.

Through the Connecticut Humanities Council, cities and towns in Connecticut can raise funds for their America 250 initiatives for a limited time.

The four-day fundraising campaign ends today, Oct. 31.
