Huge Celebration Planned In West Hartford This Weekend

'Celebrate West Hartford!' promises food, fun, arts and crafts, as well as carnival rides on Saturday, June 7, and Sunday, June 8.

WEST HARTFORD, CT — The town's biggest civic celebration of the year is this weekend, with a heaping helping of fun and community spirit on the docket.

The annual "Celebrate West Hartford" festival will take place Saturday, June 7, and Sunday, June 8, in downtown West Hartford on the grounds of West Hartford Town Hall, 50 S. Main St.

Attracting nearly 40,000 people, Celebrate! West Hartford is a family-oriented two-day community festival held in the center of town.

Since 1987, the festival has featured an award-winning arts and crafts show, carnival rides and games, live music, an international food court, and a business and non-profit expo.

There is no admission fee and many of the activities are free. View the Festival program at this link.

In addition to the festival, FUNd RUNS will take place on Sunday morning, including a certified 5K road race and half-mile dash for kids. Register online.

In-person registration and check-in will be held in the town hall parking lot from 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. The Kids' K race begins at 8:00 a.m., and the 5K Road Race starts at 9:00 a.m. View the 5K course map and Kids' K course map.

The festival has won Hartford Magazine’s readers' choice award for best festival and garnered a national ranking as Top 200 Best Craft Show from Sunshine Artists magazine.

A portion of the festival proceeds is donated to The Town That Cares and the Leisure Services Scholarship Fund, which help West Hartford residents in need.

Parking

On Saturday and Sunday, from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., the Isham Garage will be open for free parking.

Fees apply at all other parking facilities owned and/or operated by the Town of West Hartford.

Parking is also available at the West Hartford Town Center Office Building Garage (29 S. Main St., behind Fidelity Investments). A $4 event parking fee applies.

No Parking

No Parking is allowed on South Main Street, west side, from 29 S. Main St. to 55 S. Main St. (Dunkin' Donuts to Key Bank)

Burr Street will be closed. (Available only to local traffic and authorized vehicles.)

No Parking along the 5K Race route on Sunday, June 8. Road closures include: South Main Street from Memorial Road to Farmington Avenue; North Main Street from Farmington Avenue to Craigmoor Road; Craigmoor Road from North Main Street to Trout Brook Drive, the Trout Brook Trail; Trout Brook Drive from Farmington Avenue to Memorial Road.
