Major Hanukah Celebration Slated In West Hartford Sunday

The event will take place at West Hartford Town Hall and feature a Hasidic rapper, along with two familiar faces locally as emcees.

WEST HARTFORD, CT — Christmas may have been Wednesday, but it was also the first day of Hanukah.

And with the popular Jewish holiday still ongoing amid its eight days and nights, the West Hartford-area community is invited to a free celebration at West Hartford Town Hall called "Hanukah: Fire on Ice."

The fun holiday celebration starts at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 29, in the town hall's parking lot, 50 S. Main St., West Hartford.

It will feature a special Hanukah gift drop with the West Hartford Fire Department, along with a live caring of an 8-foot ice Menorah.

In addition, there will be food for sale, hot coffee and hot drinks, arts and crafts as well as a trackless train.

Highlighting the day and evening's festivities is Nissim Black, who is a Hasidic rapper and singer.

The event is being hosted by the Chabad of Greater Hartford, which is located at 2352 Albany Ave., West Hartford.

Connecticut television news personalities Dennis House and Kara Sundlun, who are also husband and wife, will be the event's emcees.
