West Hartford's Massive Road Renovation, What You Need To Know
The town is urging folks to keep an eye on the latest developments of the West Hartford Center Project and still support local businesses.
WEST HARTFORD, CT — With work officially underway on a massive roadway overhaul in the town's business district, local leaders are urging residents to keep tabs on the project's latest developments.
"Construction is underway in West Hartford Center, and we’re here to help you stay informed," wrote the Town of West Hartford last week.
The town said it has a working webpage dedicated to the project that includes all of the latest development on the overhaul, with officials especially hoping that folks will support all of the local businesses that could be impacted by the long-term construction project.

The town is revitalizing the aging infrastructure in West Hartford Center through a comprehensive reconstruction of LaSalle Road from Farmington Avenue to Ellsworth Road and Farmington Avenue from North/South Main Street to Walden Street.
According to the web page, the work will include roadway resurfacing, new granite curbing, widened concrete sidewalks, decorative street lighting, traffic signal modifications, landscaping with engineered tree pits, raised crosswalks, and site furniture/amenities.

It is expected to take two construction seasons with anticipated completion by Nov. 20, 2026.
Until then, the town is asking business owners and community members "to stay connected, navigate changes, and support local businesses."
