Massive Holiday Joy Upcoming This Week In West Hartford
The West Hartford community is hosting two major events this week, the 'Holiday Stroll' and the 'West Hartford Festival of Trees.'
WEST HARTFORD, CT — The arrival of December means holiday-season events are starting to dominate the local calendar, including two major events this week.
This week, folks are invited to get in the holiday spirit at West Hartford’s beloved New England-style "Holiday Stroll,"which will take place throughout Blue Back Square and West Hartford Center.
Taking place in conjunction with that event and, again, this weekend is the 10th annual "West Hartford Festival of Trees," a fundraiser where folks can see uniquely decorated trees, then bid on them for charity.

'Holiday Stroll'
This free, family-friendly tradition transforms the heart of town into a winter wonderland, offering something special for everyone to enjoy, according to the West Hartford Chamber of Commerce.

It will take place from 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 4, throughout Blue Back Square and West Hartford Center.
Guests can meet Santa, sample delicious bites from some of West Hartford’s most popular restaurants, and join in the community Menorah Lighting.
Three stages will feature live performances throughout the evening, while Victorian carolers stroll the streets to spread seasonal cheer.
In addition, families can also explore West Hartford’s fire trucks up close and take part in countless festive activities that capture the magic of the season.
Each year, the Holiday Stroll attracts a crowd of 8,000 to 10,000 attendees who "come together to celebrate a diverse range of winter holidays in the spirit of joy, community, and tradition," according to event organizers.
'Festival of Trees'
A major event in conjunction with the 'Holiday Stroll' is the 10th annual West Hartford Festival of Trees.
It will take place on two days: From 5 to 8 p.m. during the Holiday Stroll and also on Saturday, Dec. 6, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the First Church Congregational, 12 S. Main St.
Some of the event highlights:
• Free admission with free refreshments. Enjoy hot cocoa and cookies.
• Come see 50+ decorated trees.
• To bid on trees: $10 for 10 tickets or $20 for 25 tickets.
• To take a chance at winning the Gift Card Present containing over $600 worth of gift cards. Tickets are $5 per bid.
• All proceeds go to local charities
• Drawing of winners will be held on Sunday, Dec. 7. Winners will be notified by call or text.
