NW Catholic Comes Up Short In CIAC Class S Football Title Game Saturday

NEW BRITAIN/WEST HARTFORD, CT — West Hartford's Northwest Catholic High School's season ended in defeat Saturday, as the Lions' bid for a state football championship came up one win short.

M.T. Sheehan High School out of Wallingford defeated NW Catholic 21-7 Saturday afternoon at a brisk Veterans Memorial Stadium in New Britain in the Connecticut Interscholastic Athletic Conference (CIAC) Class S state football championship game.

Including two postseason wins, the Lions stood at 11-1 going into the game Saturday, while Sheehan was 10-2.

Though located in West Hartford, Northwest Catholic has students from several area towns attending, including Farmington, Avon, Simsbury, Canton, Berlin, Newington, Rocky Hill, Wethersfield, Berlin, Cromwell, Middletown, Windsor, Windsor Locks, and East Hartford.
