WEST HARTFORD, CT — It appears the transition from winter to spring is complete, even if the calendar still says there are a few more days left of the season of the cold.

That's because the Town of West Hartford has announced that one of its town-owned golf courses, Buena Vista Golf Course, 37 Buena Vista Road, West Hartford, is open for golf as of Friday, March 14.

West Hartford Department of Leisure Services officials said while the clubs are or will soon be open for long drives and, hopefully, short putts, weather still plays a factor.

"Weather this time of year can be unpredictable and adjustments to hours of operation may be needed," wrote the town.

Town officials also noted that the walking trails at Rockledge will close March 20 "for safety purposes" as hikers and errant swings don't mix. The trails at Buena Vista are already closed.
