Transform Your Backyard Into A Safe Place: WeHa Commission
The Sustainable West Hartford Commission is hosting a special event at Westmoor Park Sunday on making the backyard a healthy habitat.

Sunday, local residents can learn how to transform their backyard into a "living, breathing healthy habitat for you, your family and your pets. "
Folks are invited to attend the town's Sustainable Land Care Working Group program, which is part of the new Sustainable West Hartford Commission.

The organization specializes in habitat restoration, pollinator/rain gardens, native plant garden design, organic lawn care, composting, and invasive species identification.
An in-person program is on Sunday, Nov. 12, from 2 to 3:30 p.m. at Westmoor Park, 119 Flagg Road, West Hartford. The family is invited.
There, guests will learn how to create a backyard habitat.
Meanwhile, a virtual component of the program is slated for Thursday, Nov. 16, from 6:30 to 8 p.m., with registration information here.
"We would love to answer your questions and also learn more about how we can best support all of West Hartford in building a sustainable and just community," wrote the working group.
