Wednesday A Fun Day In West Hartford This Summer

The town's 'Whimsical Wednesday' series kicks off Wednesday, July 9, at the Elmwood Community Center in West Hartford.

WEST HARTFORD, CT — Families looking for something fun and inexpensive to do this summer are invited to the Town of West Hartford's 'Whimsical Wednesdays' series, which starts this week, July 9.

These free family-friendly entertainment events take place each Wednesday from 6 to 7 p.m. at the Elmwood Community Center's lower field, 1106 New Britain Ave.

Guests are invited to bring a blanket, chairs, and even a picnic dinner to "enjoy some great fun" with snow cones and entertainment available.

Should it rain, the events will be moved to the Elmwood Community Center auditorium.

It all starts Wednesday, July 9, with all sorts of inflatable play equipment on the site.

Other events then take place each Wednesday through Aug. 13, when a "Summer Lua Hua" is planned.

In between, the series will feature a clown, a musician, a "Teddy Bear Picnic," and other events.
