West Hartford Announces Holiday Impacts: UPDATE
Monday, Oct. 13, is the Columbus Day holiday, but other towns like West Hartford celebrate it as Indigenous Peoples Day as well.

WEST HARTFORD, CT — Local officials this week have announced the community impacts associated with the upcoming holiday weekend.
West Hartford's senior centers, town hall, and libraries, among other offices, will be closed on Monday, Oct. 13, for Indigenous Peoples Day, a day that is also celebrated as Columbus Day.
In addition, West Hartford Public Schools are also closed for the day on Monday for Indigenous Peoples Day.

Trash collection will remain on schedule with no delay.
The Yard Waste & Recycling Center will be open from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. The last vehicle accepted is at 2:45 p.m. An annual permit is required to dispose of items.

The Veterans Memorial Skating Rink will hold a Public Skating session on Monday, Oct. 13, from 12:40 to 1:40 p.m., and Adult (18+) Skating sessions are held from 9:15 to 11:15 a.m.
Cornerstone Aquatics Center is also open. View the pool schedule or call the front desk at 860-561-8270 to find the best time to visit.
Westmoor Park farm hours are from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily, and park trails and grounds hours are open from 8 a.m. to dusk.
