West Hartford Golf Course Opened With Month Left Of Winter
The Town of West Hartford cited "spring-like" weather for the opening.
WEST HARTFORD, CT — Superstitious types who also happen to hate winter might not be too happy about this announcement by town officials Wednesday.
But the Town of West Hartford, citing the "spring-like weather upon us," on announced Wednesday the town-owned Rockledge Golf Club, located at 289 S. Main St., is open for play.
"We hope this will be the start of a great golf season," wrote the town Wednesday afternoon.

Should the golf course opening jinx things for local duffers, however, course officials warn that Rockledge's opening is always tentative.
"Weather this time of year can be unpredictable and adjustments to hours of operation may be needed," wrote West Hartford officials.

For safety purposes, the walking trails at Rockledge are closed.
Naturally, long-range weather forecasts are already indicating the possibility of snow next week.
