The modernization program includes phased elevator and escalator upgrades at Memorial Garage, Isham Garage, and Webster Walk.

Improvements will include new elevator electrical and mechanical systems, waterproofing, and the replacement of 10 escalators with energy-efficient, low-noise models.

Architectural upgrades will also be made to improve visibility and the overall user experience.

Clear signage will be posted at each facility during construction to guide patrons through temporary access changes.

Project Start: Memorial Garage

Work will begin in the Memorial Garage on Monday, Dec. 1, and is expected to continue through mid-January 2026.

During this period, the Memorial Garage elevator will be temporarily out of service for modernization.

The garage will remain open, and ADA access will remain available from the ground floor.

To support accessibility and minimize disruption:

  • Two additional ADA spaces will be designated on Level 1, bringing the total to nine.
  • 13 Level 1 spaces will be temporarily reserved for patient parking.
  • The ADA drop-off and pick-up area on Memorial Road will be expanded with two additional spaces to assist healthcare offices and visitors.
  • Directional signage will be placed at the entrance and throughout the garage to guide patrons.

Staff will monitor the garage daily and coordinate with surrounding tenants to address any concerns.
