West Hartford 'Pooch Plunge' Postponed To Tuesday, Aug. 20
The event, a fundraiser for the West Hartford Dog Park Coalition originally slated for Monday, will take place at Beachland Park Pool.
WEST HARTFORD, CT — An iffy weather forecast Monday has prompted organizers of the town's annual 'Pooch Plunge' to reschedule it to Tuesday, Aug. 20.
According to West Hartford Dog Park Coalition Co-President David Coleman, the event will take place at the Beachland Park pool in West Hartford, 847 Quaker Lane, from 4 to 6:45 p.m.
The "Pooch Plunge" is a fund-raiser for the organization looking to build a permanent dog park in town,

Nothing else has changed regarding the event's requirements and fees.
All town pools closed for the season for humans on Sunday, Aug. 18, with the "Pooch Plunge" the last official use of a town summer outdoor swimming facility.

The event is sponsored by the West Hartford Dog Park Coalition (WHDPC), the Town of West Hartford, and lead business sponsors Camp Bow Wow and Zoomin Groomin.
The event is $15 for the first dog and $5 for additional dogs, with payment in advance at https://wehapoochplunge.com/ or at the pool entrance with Venmo or cash.
A waiver is also required and that can be filled out at https://wehapoochplunge.com/signup or at the event. A few rules:
- Dogs must be licensed with current 2024 tags
- Dogs/children must be supervised
- Tennis balls are provided. Please don’t bring dog toys.
- Pick up poop.
