West Hartford's MLK Holiday Weekend Impacts: What You Need To Know

Monday is the holiday honoring Martin Luther King Jr., with several town and school impacts announced.

WEST HARTFORD, CT — Monday, Jan. 20, is the observed federal holiday in honor of Martin Luther King Jr., with several municipal and school impacts announced.

Due to the holiday, the following locations will be closed to business in West Hartford: West Hartford Town Hall, public schools, the community center, senior centers, and libraries.

The collection of trash, recyclable items, and bulky and metal waste remains on schedule.

The West Hartford Yard Waste & Recycling Center is open from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. (The last car accepted is 2:45 p.m.).
The Veterans Memorial Skating Rink will hold public skating sessions from 11:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Schools and town operations will reopen as normal on Tuesday, Jan. 21.
