West Hartford's New 'Parking Finder' App Takes Away The Stress

WEST HARTFORD, CT — Bustling downtowns are always a good thing for a community, but one negative to this is the tense struggle motorists face trying to find a place to park.

On Tuesday, West Hartford unveiled a new, high-tech feature that aims to solve that problem.

The Town of West Hartford has partnered with Modii to introduce the "WeHa Parking Finder" application.

For residents and visitors to West Hartford Center and Blue Back Square who may have experienced frustration finding a place to put the vehicle, this should help..

The new feature puts local parking options and availability at peoples' fingertips.

Called the "WeHa Parking Finder," it identifies available parking locations, ADA parking, electric vehicle charging stations, and pick-up and drop-off sites—all through a mobile device.

The WeHa Parking Finder also offers the ability to review terms and conditions and pay for parking if necessary.

"West Hartford’s central business district has ample parking, on- and off-street options, and curbside spaces that are always in high demand," wrote the Town of West Hartford Tuesday.

"Consumers can now make informed decisions to avoid circling the block or double parking to pick up take-out."

West Hartford Center and Blue Back Square have over 5,000 parking spots located curbside, in municipal surface lots and garages, and private lots and garages.

"Many visitors may not realize that off-street availability is often just around the corner," wrote the town.

"Before you head out to a local restaurant, boutique, or community event, open the WeHa Parking Finder to find the closest place to park near your destination."
