WETHERSFIELD, CT — A heavily traveled part of town is closed after a serious accident early Thursday afternoon, according to multiple law enforcement entities.

According to the Newington and Wethersfield police departments, the Berlin Turnpike north near Arrow Road is closed to traffic due to the accident.

Wethersfield police say it is unknown when the road will reopen.
