Chicken Chain Traffic Meltdowns Expected In Wethersfield: WPD

The Wethersfield Police Department issued a warning Monday about major traffic backups expected when a new restaurant opens next month.

WETHERSFIELD, CT β€” A former Denny's site is about to become a Raising Cane's chicken restaurant, with local police this week warning of traffic meltdowns due to the opening.

According to the Wethersfield Police Department, the Raising Cane's is tentatively slated to open June 24 at 1298 Silas Deane Highway, which was once the site of a Denny's restaurant.

"During the initial opening, there will be traffic backed up northbound on Silas Deane Highway between Executive Square and Town Line Road, which could last approximately two weeks," wrote the WPD on Monday.
