Dog Found Abandoned, Emaciated In Wethersfield: Police

The friendly canine was found roaming a wooded area in town on Saturday, police said.

WETHERSFIELD, CT β€” Local police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the discovery Saturday of an emaciated and abandoned dog in one neighborhood.

The Wethersfield Police Department said at about 7:30 a.m. Saturday, the dog was found along a wooded area near Pine Lane and Western Boulevard in Wethersfield.

"The dog appeared to be an adult male who was severely emaciated and malnourished," wrote the WPD.

Police said the canine was friendly and had on a black, leather collar with spikes when it was located.

"The dog was likely abandoned by his previous owner," wrote police.
