Downed Pole Shuts Down Major Wethersfield Roadway

WETHERSFIELD, CT — A portion of the Silas Deane Highway in Wethersfield is closed Thursday afternoon after a pole came down on the roadway, according to the state Department of Transportation.

The DOT reports the pole came down on Route 99, which is closed between Nott Street and Cumberland Avenue.

The incident was reported at 2:35 p.m. and it is "unknown" when it will be cleared and the road reopened in that area.
