According to police, the incident started at about 3:03 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 17, when a trooper out of Troop H in Hartford entered I-91 South from a Wethersfield on-ramp.
Police said the officer noticed a gray Toyota Gr86 sports car traveling in the left lane of three at "an extremely high rate of speed, failing to maintain its lane."

The trooper caught up to the Toyota and clocked the suspect going greater than 120 mph in a posted 65 mph zone.
Police said the trooper used emergency lights and siren and the operator of the Toyota complied by pulling over into the right shoulder.
Once stopped, the Trooper approached the Toyota and made contact with the driver, who was later identified as Blanchard, police said.
Out of concern he would flee, the trooper directed Blanchard to turn the vehicle off and to hand over the keys and Blanchard complied.
"During their interaction, Blanchard explained that he was trying to get to work and did not know his driving behavior was considered to be reckless," wrote police in a release Thursday afternoon.
Blanchard was eventually charged and transported to Troop H where he was processed.
