I-91 Crash Causes Traffic Jam In Wethersfield: UPDATE

WETHERSFIELD, CT — A multi-vehicle accident on Interstate 91 in Wethersfield is causing traffic worries for PM commuters, according to the state Department of Transportation.

The DOT reports the crash happened on I-91 North between exits 25 and 27, initially resulting in the two left lanes being closed, but now just the left shoulder is closed.

It has caused a 2.8-mile traffic backup, according to the DOT.

The accident was first reported at 2:51 p.m. and it is "unknown" when it will be cleared.
