Iconic Pizzeria Set To Open In Wethersfield

The first day of business will be Thursday, Aug. 29, with reservations available for tables after that date.

WETHERSFIELD, CT — A slice of New Haven will come to Wethersfield next week when an iconic pizzeria associated with Elm City's famous pizza scene will open for business.

Sally’s Apizza, the famous New-Haven restaurant and bar, founded by Salvatore “Sally” Consiglio in 1938, will open Thursday, Aug. 29 at 5 p.m. in Wethersfield.

It is located on the ground level of the residential complex, "The Borden" at 1178 Silas Deane Highway.

It is the first of four forthcoming Hartford area locations, including Farmington, Newington, and South Windsor.

While offering diverse culinary offerings, Sally’s Apizza in Wethersfield will still cater to pizza lovers, using the same recipe from nearly a century ago.

The restaurant features a full cocktail bar with an expanded wine list that offers proprietary
Italian varietals.

Sally's dining area has 85 seats, allowing for guests to relax in one of the many booths or at the nine-seat bar.

Meanwhile, a patio that can hold nearly 40 guests will open in spring 2025.
