Loud Pot Party Nets 8 Suspects: Wethersfield Police

The suspects hail from Wethersfield, Windsor and Hartford, with all facing gun charges, among other offenses.

WETHERSFIELD, CT β€” A noise complaint late Sunday night in Wethersfield resulted in eight people being taken into custody and charged with several gun violations.

According to the Wethersfield Police Department Monday, seven adults and one juvenile were apprehended after fleeing a gathering on Lancaster Road in Wethersfield.

One of those charged was from Wethersfield, four were from Hartford, and two were from Windsor.

No hometown was given for the juvenile, who was not named because of their age.

Police said it all started at about 10:49 p.m., when officers were dispatched to a Lancaster Road residence for a loud noise complaint.

"When officers arrived on the scene, they located eight individuals talking loudly and smoking what appeared to be marijuana," wrote the WPD.

"As officers approached the individuals, they fled the scene, but were all located and detained.

Police said a resident at the complex told them one of the fleeing individuals hid an item under a chair seat cushion outside the door.

When officers searched, they discovered two firearms under the seat cushion.

According to Wethersfield police, the following persons were charged:

β€’ Arianna Marshall, 18, of Hartford, was charged with carrying a pistol without a permit; illegal sale/purchase of a large-capacity magazine; conspiracy to carry a pistol without a permit; conspiracy to illegally sale or purchase a large-capacity magazine, trespassing; second-degree breach of peace; and interfering with a police officer.

β€’ Ronin Hoffman, 20, of Wethersfield, was charged with carrying a pistol without a permit; illegal sale/purchase of a large-capacity magazine; conspiracy to carry a pistol without a permit; conspiracy to illegally sale or purchase a large-capacity magazine, trespassing; second-degree breach of peace; and interfering with a police officer.

β€’ Giovanni Padilla, 19, of Windsor, was charged with carrying a pistol without a permit; illegal sale/purchase of a large-capacity magazine; conspiracy to carry a pistol without a permit; conspiracy to illegally sale or purchase a large-capacity magazine, trespassing; second-degree breach of peace; and interfering with a police officer.

β€’ Deja Padilla, 18, of Hartford, was charged with carrying a pistol without a permit; illegal sale/purchase of a large-capacity magazine; conspiracy to carry a pistol without a permit; conspiracy to illegally sale or purchase a large-capacity magazine, trespassing; second-degree breach of peace; and interfering with a police officer.

β€’ Shalyce Peeples, 18, of Hartford, was charged with carrying a pistol without a permit; illegal sale/purchase of a large-capacity magazine; conspiracy to carry a pistol without a permit; conspiracy to illegally sale or purchase a large-capacity magazine, trespassing; second-degree breach of peace; and interfering with a police officer.

β€’ Khalil Lavoix, 19, of Hartford, was charged with carrying a pistol without a permit; illegal sale/purchase of a large-capacity magazine; conspiracy to carry a pistol without a permit; conspiracy to illegally sale or purchase a large-capacity magazine, trespassing; second-degree breach of peace; criminal possession of a firearm; and interfering with a police officer.

β€’ Xavier Padilla, 18, of Windsor, was charged with carrying a pistol without a permit; illegal sale/purchase of a large-capacity magazine; conspiracy to carry a pistol without a permit; conspiracy to illegally sale or purchase a large-capacity magazine, trespassing; second-degree breach of peace; possession of a controlled substance; and interfering with a police officer.

β€’ An unnamed juvenile was charged with carrying a pistol without a permit; illegal sale/purchase of a large-capacity magazine; conspiracy to carry a pistol without a permit; conspiracy to illegally sale or purchase a large-capacity magazine, trespassing; second-degree breach of peace; and interfering with a police officer.

Police said the juvenile was released to a guardian while the remaining seven suspects were to be arraigned in New Britain Superior Court Monday, March 3.
