Memorial Day In Wethersfield: Town Will Hold Parade, Musket-Firing
In addition to its annual parade, the town will set up a 1770s Colonial Encampment in Old Wethersfield and host a battle re-enactment.

WETHERSFIELD, CT β In addition to its annual parade, Wethersfield will mark Memorial Day by taking participants back in time.
The town's festivities will take place on Saturday, with the parade beginning at around 9 a.m. Residents can expect some traffic delays at that time in the areas of Church Street, Garden Street, Main Street and Broad Street.
That day, parts of Old Wethersfield will be transported back to the 1770s via a Colonial Encampment set up in the area of the Webb-Deane-Stevens Museum (211 Main St.).

A firing demo of period muskets will take place there at around 10:30 a.m., and at around 1 p.m. there the town will host a small battle re-enactment between the 5th Connecticut Regiment and British Marines. The re-enactment will include the firing of period muskets as well.
The Wethersfield Police Department wants residents and visitors to know that the musket firings will be supervised and done safely, the town said.
