'Threats' Probed Of Avon, Wethersfield Schools: UPDATE

A police probe of 'threats' determined the source of the threats were out of state and not deemed credible.

WETHERSFIELD/AVON, CT β€” Local police said Wednesday morning that a reported social media threat against schools in Avon and Wethersfield was unfounded.

According to the Wethersfield Police Department, the WPD received a report of a "threat" that listed a school in town via social media.

"Officers investigated the threat and discovered that the threat and the school was out of state," wrote the WPD.

Police said, ultimately, there was "no threat to Wethersfield Public Schools."

Meanwhile, WFSB Channel 3, citing Avon school officials said a similar threat was investigated by school/police officials there.

WFSB said a TikTok threat listed a "Pine Grove School," which is located in Avon.
