Student Assaulted, Robbed At School Bus Stop In Wethersfield

Police said the incident happened on Maple Street and the student was injured.

WETHERSFIELD, CT β€” Local police need the public's help after a student Thursday morning was assaulted and robbed while waiting for the school bus.

Wethersfield police said the incident happened at about 6:59 a.m. Thursday at a bus stop in the area of 856 Maple St.

Police said the department received a report of a possible assault of a juvenile student at the bus stop.

After police arrived, they determined the student was physically assaulted by an occupant in a passing motor vehicle and had property stolen from the suspect, police said.

Police said no weapons were used or implied in the incident.

According to police, the vehicle involved fled the scene prior to officers' arrival and the young victim sustained minor injuries, but was not taken to a hospital.

The case is still under investigation by the department's detective division.
