Suspect Wanted In Connection To Death Of Toddler Detained In Wethersfield: Police
The suspect will be extradited to North Carolina, where a county sheriff on Tuesday unveiled details of the situation in a press conference.
WETHERSFIELD, CT — Local police this week said they have a suspect in custody who was wanted in connection with the homicide death of a 2-year-old girl in North Carolina.
According to the Wethersfield Police Department, Rajasaffiyya Drain, 28, was charged Monday, Sept. 22, with being a fugitive from justice and is being held on $1 million bond.
She was taken into custody when local police were called to a "domestic-related incident" in Wethersfield, police said.

When police took Drain into custody, they learned that she was wanted by the Bertie County Sheriff's Office in North Carolina for homicide.
According to WFSB Channel 3, a grand jury in North Carolina indicted Drain for the December 2024 death of her 2-year-old daughter, who died of blunt force trauma.
