SUV Rolls Into Connecticut River In Wethersfield: Police
The Wethersfield Police Department reports the driver said the brakes malfunctioned.
WETHERSFIELD, CT — Local police are investigating how a sport utility vehicle ended up in the Connecticut River Thursday night.
According to the Wethersfield Police Department, at about 7:07 p.m., police responded to a call at the Wethersfield Cove boat launch for a report of a vehicle in the water.
Police said the vehicle was a gray 2004 Honda Pilot SUV.

Upon arrival, responding police spoke with three occupants inside the Pilot, with the operator claiming a braking malfunction sent the Honda rolling into the river.
Police said the Capital Region Dive Team was called and they assisted in getting the soaked SUV out of the water.

No injuries were reported and there were no other occupants inside the vehicle, police said.
