Tractor-Trailer Crash Finally Cleared In Wethersfield: UPDATE

WETHERSFIELD, CT — Traffic is still being impacted on Interstate 91 heading into Hartford following a tractor-trailer accident in Wethersfield Thursday morning.

According to the state Department of Transportation, the accident was on I-91 North between exits 24 and 25.

As a result of the crash, the two right lanes of the highway were eventually closed as crews tended to the scene, but later in the afternoon, the DOT reported just the right lane of traffic is closed.

By mid-afternoon, however, the scene was finally cleared.

State traffic camera footage showed a tractor-trailer crashed through a metal barrier and off the roadway, nearly into a wooded area.

The accident was first reported at 4:59 a.m. and it is now no longer listed on the DOT's accident report list.
