Two Wethersfield Men Face Child Porn Charges: Police

One suspect, 60, was charged Monday, while the other, 76, was charged Friday with possession of child porn. Both live on the same road.

WETHERSFIELD, CT β€” Two men on the same street have been accused of possession child pornography, with both appearing in court this week.

According to the Wethersfield Police Department Friday, local detectives worked with the Connecticut Center for Digital Investigations in taking the suspects into custody. They are:

β€’ Scott C. Burr, 60, of Valley Crest Drive, Wethersfield, was charged with first-degree possession of child sexual abuse material on Monday, May 19.

Police took Burr into custody after executing a search-and-seizure warrant at 134 Valley Crest Drive as part of an ongoing child pornography investigation.

He was held on $100,000 bond and appeared in New Britain Superior Court on Monday, May 19.

According to online court records, that bond was increased to $150,000, with Burr being released after posting it. He will next appear in court July 8.

β€’ Walter J. Kustwan, 76, of Valley Crest Drive, Wethersfield, was charged with first-degree possession of child sexual abuse material on Friday, May 23.

Police took Kustwan into custody after executing a search-and-seizure warrant at 49 Valley Crest Drive as part of an ongoing child pornography investigation.

He was being held on $100,000 bond and was slated to be presented in New Britain Superior Court on Friday, May 23.

No further court information was available Friday.

Local police said they will continue operations against child porn and those who own and distribute its images.

"The Wethersfield Police Department remains committed to protecting the most vulnerable members of our community and will continue working closely with our law enforcement partners to investigate and prosecute these serious offenses," the WPD said in a statement.
