Webb Deane Stevens Museum awarded Connecticut Humanities Grant for CT Summer at the Museum

WETHERSFIELD, CT - The Webb Deane Stevens Museum was recently awarded a grant in the amount of $5,458.60 from Connecticut Humanities to support participation in the 2023 CT Summer at the Museum program.

The program was extremely successful last summer, with museums throughout the state hosting hundreds of thousands of children, many of whom would not otherwise be able to afford admission. CT Summer at the Museum invites Connecticut children ages 18 and younger, plus one accompanying resident adult, to visit participating museums free of charge from July 1 through September 5.

"Admission fees can quickly become prohibitive when multiplied across an entire family," said Brenton Grom, Executive Director of the Webb Deane Stevens Museum. "This program allows us to remove that barrier and help families from across the state plan a fulfilling summer."

Funding for CT Summer at the Museum is provided by the Connecticut General Assembly, with the support of Connecticut Humanities and the Department of Economic and Community Development, Office of the Arts, which also receives support from the federal American Rescue Plan Act of 2021.
