Connecticut Humanities’ “American Rescue Plan” COVID Relief Funding

WETHERSFIELD, CT (February 8, 2022)— The Webb-Deane-Stevens Museum has been awarded with a $5,740.50 CTH SHARP Capacity Grant from Connecticut Humanities, the statewide, nonprofit affiliate of the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH). The grant will support the digitization of the museum’s collections and historic structures.

“The funding from the CTH SHARP Capacity Grant will help the Webb-Deane-Stevens Museum respond to the changing needs of the community that emerged during the pandemic,” said Executive Director Joseph Campbell Torrance. “By making our historic and cultural assets accessible online, educators, students, scholars, and history buffs will enjoy a fully immersive experience. We are grateful to Connecticut Humanities for recognizing the need for this vital community resource.”

“Our cultural nonprofits enrich lives, and it is important that they remain viable and accessible to all residents,” said Dr. Jason Mancini, Executive Director for CT Humanities.

Support for this project is provided to the Webb-Deane-Stevens Museum by CT Humanities (CTH), through the Sustaining the Humanities through the American Rescue Plan (SHARP) with funds from the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) and the American Rescue Plan (ARP) Act.
