Wethersfield Cheerleading Team To Go To Nationals

WETHERSFIELD, CT — The Wethersfield B Cheer Team will go to the National Cheer and Dance championships to represent Connecticut at a national level. The squad has started a GoFundMe to cover travel costs to Orlando for the competition starting Dec. 4.

Gianna Ehrlich started the fundraiser and wrote on the GoFundMe page, "All of our girls did amazing and we are all so proud of how far they have come. Our Wethersfield B Team girls competed against all 8 New England teams in their division. In a true CINDERELLA story they came within the TOP groups score qualified and advanced to the POP WARNER NATIONAL CHEER COMPETITION at Universal Studios in Florida..."

So far the fundraiser has brought in $4,275 of a $15,000 goal.

"This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for these girls that proved time and again to keep pushing and never give up...

"We would love to be able to offset some of the cost to give these girls and young coaches this amazing opportunity. We would like to be able to set the groundwork for our up and coming program so that future girls in Wethersfield can join our program and have them all show just how great Wethersfield Cheer is!!!
