Wethersfield Cove Fireworks Show To Light Up Sky On Saturday

Local police warn motorists of potential traffic impacts due to the event.

WETHERSFIELD, CT — The Fourth of July is still more than a month away, but in Wethersfield, it is the Third of June when the oohs and ahs are expected.

On Saturday, June 3, the town will host its annual Wethersfield Fireworks at Cove Park event, with the night sky expected to be colorfully transformed at 9:15 p.m.

But with those fireworks comes some traffic alerts, with Wethersfield police warning motorists of traffic impacts beginning at about 5 p.m. in that area.

The WPD said motorists can expect heavy traffic in the areas of Hartford Avenue, Garden Street and Main Street.

"Thank you in advance for you assistance and patience," wrote the WPD. "A special thank you to parks and recreation, physical services, the Wethersfield Volunteer Fire Department and the Wethersfield Volunteer Ambulance for making this event possible."
