Wethersfield High School Graduate Found Dead In National Park

The 32-year-old man, who was living in Montana, fell while hiking, according to federal authorities.

WETHERSFIELD, CT/WEST GLACIER, MONT. — A 32-year-old Wethersfield High School graduate who was living in Montana has been found dead in a national park after authorities said he fell while hiking.

Grant Marcuccio, 32, from Whitefish, Mont., was found dead in Glacier National Park on Sunday after going missing while hiking on Aug. 18, officials with the U.S. National Park Service said in a release.

According to multiple news outlets, including WVIT Channel 30, Marcuccio is a native of Wethersfield and graduated from WHS.

While Marcuccio's cause of death is under investigation, National Park Service officials said the man's injuries are consistent with a fall.

According to authorities, Marcuccio was last seen by his hiking party on Sunday, Aug. 18, at about 1 p.m.

Officials said he was separated from the people he was with and planned to meet up with them at a designated location in the park.

"Rangers were alerted by the hiking party on Sunday evening that Marcuccio never made it to the rendezvous spot," the National Parks Service said in a statement.
