Woman Found Dead In Wethersfield Apartment: Police
Local and state law enforcers are investigating the discovery of the body as a 'suspicious death.'
WETHERSFIELD, CT — The discovery of a woman's dead body in an apartment in Wethersfield Tuesday evening is being treated as a "suspicious death," local police said Wednesday.
According to the Wethersfield Police Department, officers were sent to 1320 Berlin Turnpike at about 6:07 p.m. Tuesday after emergency responders tended to a reported medical emergency there.
Police said the apartment building had a woman's dead body inside Unit 521.

Responding officers immediately called for the WPD's detective division to assume control of the investigation.
Police said, ultimately, WPD detectives then asked for the assistance of the Connecticut State Police's Central District Major Crime Squad and the New Britain State's Attorney's Office.

"Based on preliminary information, this is an isolated incident and there is no threat to the community at this time," the WPD said in a statement Wednesday morning.
Police said they will not release the identity of the deceased until next of kin are notified.
The WPD said the investigation is ongoing and they expect to release added details "as we gather further information."
