Some seethe at CL&P

11/4: Connecticut Light and Power (CL&P) workers called police to report that a vehicle had swerved at them while they worked to restore power on Rte. 33 and Weeburn Lane, police said. A worker recorded the license plate of the possibly-dangerous vehicle and gave it to Wilton police, who identified the owner as a Ridgefield resident, police said. Officers from Wilton drove to the man’s house and questioned him. The man said that he had been talking on his cellphone via a speaker on his central console, when the speaker fell to the ground; when the man went to pick it up, he said he swerved accidentally, according to police. Police said the Ridgefield resident’s power was on. No further action was taken.

No further action was made, and the resident was not identified.
