3-Car Accident Sends One to Hospital

A three-car accident in Wilton that involved drivers from Danbury and Southbury sent one to the hospital on Tuesday.

WILTON, CT — A Southbury woman was issued an infraction for following too closely after police said she rear-ended a vehicle on Route 7, causing it to crash into another vehicle. The impact of the crash sent one driver to the hospital with unknown injuries.

According to a police report, a vehicle driven by Peter Bafundo, 40, of New Fairfield, was stopped in the southbound lane of traffic on Route 7 when Jessica Campinelli, 29, of Southbury, rear-ended a vehicle driven by Nelson Fernandes-DeOliviera, 39, of Danbury, causing him to crash into Bafundo's vehicle. Fernandes-DeOliviera was taken by ambulance to a local hospital.

Campinelli was issued a citation by Wilton police for following too closely.
