$7,500 Worth of Electronics Stolen from Verizon Store in Wilton

Window Smashed, Items Stolen from Car

8/30: In the early afternoon, a Wilton man parked his 2005 Honda CRV in a large, abandoned parking lot off of Kent Road in order to go for a bike ride.  When he got back, between 1 and 2 p.m., the man called police to report that one of his windows had been smashed and items from his car were stolen, according to police. A pair of jeans, $200 in cash, credit cards, a license, and a gym bag containing sweatpants and a watch had been removed from the vehicle, according to the reports. The value of the property stolen was reported at about $260. Police are asking anyone who may have seen any suspicious activity to contact the Wilton Police Department.

Ladders Stolen

8/27: Sometime between 8/27 and 8/29, two step ladders were removed from behind Dina! Restaurant, according to police reports. The ladders are described as one 10-foot yellow folding ladder and an 16-foot orange folding ladder with “XL Electric” spray painted in black on the side. Residents are encouraged to report any information regarding this incident. The ladders are valued at $250.

9/2: At approximately 3:30 p.m, five individuals walked into the Wilton Verizon Wireless store, and, while an employee was busy with another customer, it is alleged that these persons made their way into the back storage area, according to the police report. Discovered missing were seven iPhones, valued at about $5,500 total, two HTCA Android PDAs valued at $500 each, and two Android Phones worth $558 each, police said. The total value of the stolen goods is approximated at $7,500. Police said surveillance footage is being reviewed. The employee working said that the individuals may have been of Albanian descent.

Accident on Danbury Road

8/31: A vehicle travelling south on Danbury Road attempted to turn left onto School Street at an intersection and struck another vehicle travelling north, according to police reports. The vehicle attempting to turn was being driven by Susan Sayour, 49, of Fairfield; she reported shoulder pain and was transported to Norwalk Hospital, police said. The driver of the vehicle travelling south, Jason Defreitas, 24, of Brookfield, was not injured. Police issued Sayour a warning for failure to grant the right of way at an intersection.
