Alleged Chimney-Sweep Scammer Arrested on Failure to Appear
Last year, a man allegedly scammed a 92-year-old Wilton resident out of thousands of dollars under the guise of a legit company.

acted in conjunction with Suffox County police and arrested Christopher Tullon, of Dorchester Drive in Coram, NY, age 30, last Tuesday for failure to appear in court on several serious charges for an alleged chimney-sweeping scam arrest which occurred last year.
This is Tullon’s arrest as reported in Wilton Patch last June:
“Police said they arrested Christopher Tullon, 28, of Hoppague, NY for an alleged August 2010 home improvement chimney-sweeping scam. Police said Tullon, who allegedly operated out of the company “Top Sweep” located in Long Island, NY, made modifications to an elderly Wilton man’s chimney—but Tullon lacked all proper certifications, and ended up putting the elderly person in danger because the chimney was modified in an unsafe manner, according to police. Police said “Top Sweep” has had a history of these crimes.”

“Police said that unscrupulous companies will target the elderly and claim that their new company has absorbed the person’s older company, and will be conducting repairs for them from now on. Police also said that these companies may use cold calling as well.”
Police had held Tullon on a $7,500 bond, which he apparently paid, and then never showed up for his court date, according to police.
